What is FileGuardian Express?
FileGuardian Express is your solution to automatically send files securely to anyone in the world. The moment a file is placed inside of the FileGuardian Express watch area, FileGuardian Express detects the need to securely send based on a file name pattern. FileGuardian Express delivery is completed within a matter of seconds utilizing FileGuardian’s industry leading encryption and secure delivery platform without the need of any human involvement.How does FileGuardian Express work?
There are a few pieces to FileGuardian Express:- FileGuardian Express Dispatcher - the dispatcher runs as a service on any number of computers in your office. During the installation of the dispatcher, you'll identify three folders which are the key to the dispatcher:
- Folder to Monitor - this is the folder where the dispatcher will monitor for files to be created. Once a file has been created in this folder, the dispatcher will send the file securely through FileGuardian.
- Sent Files Folder - just like you have a "sent mail" folder inside of your email system, the dispatcher Sent Files folder is used to move files from the "Folder to Monitor" upon successful delivery of that file through FileGuardian.
- Error Folder - if FileGuardian Express is unable to send a file, it will be moved from the "Folder to Monitor" to this error folder.
- FileGuardian Express Rules - the rules are defined inside of the FileGuardian web interface and dictate who will receive files automatically via FileGuardian Express. Each rule has a defined file name pattern and list of file recipients. The FileGuardan Express Dispatcher will utilize these rules to know who to automatically send files to based on file name.
What's an example of a rule inside of FileGuardian Express?
An example of a rule in FileGuardian Express is:- Any PDF file that starts with '1234'
- Will be delivered to 'joe@1234.com' and 'mary@1234.com'
- Rick Hymanson will bet setup as the sender or "From" of the email
- The message will have a subject of "Your Report Files" with an email body of "Here are you latest report files. Thanks, Rick"

FileGuardian Express is a premium add-on a standard FileGuardian subscription. FGX is offered at two monthly subscription options:
- Pay As You Go - $.25/file.
It's simple, every file sent automatically through FileGuardian Express costs $.25/file. If you send 10 files, you're FileGuardian Express cost would be $2.50 for that month. -
Premium - $18.00/month + $.19/file.
For a small monthly fee, the Premium option reduces the per file cost to $.19/file. If you are going to be sending over 300 files a month via FileGuardian Express, this is the more economical option.
